Accuweather.com Named Site of the Day
ClickZ, November 4, 2004

AccuWeather.com has been named as Site of the Day by software developer Macromedia and featured prominently on the company's Web site, www.macromedia.com

The honor recognizes the addition of WeatherHost, the world's first virtual weathercaster, according to a news release from AccuWeather. WeatherHost is a speaking animation, designed to look and sound like an Accu Weather.com meteorologist.

The weathercaster delivers a national forecast, six regional forecasts and forecasts for 101 U.S. cities. AccuWeather.com is also making WeatherHost available for use on other Web sites, including broadcast media, newspapers and travel for example.

Macromedia picks sites with strong visual design, technical execution, usability and overall interest, according to a news release.

WeatherHost was created using the Oddcast VHost™ technology that allows non-programmers to create and embed virtual animated characters within web pages, e-mails, ad banners and Macromedia Flash movies.
